This is not the first time you've heard that exercise is good. But exercise is more than just good. Exercise helps you live a better life in so many ways. It makes you live long, helps control your weight, makes you more intelligent, makes you sleep better and guards you against diseases. And that's not all.

Let's learn more on how exercise can make you live a better life.

1. Exercise increases your lifespan

Recent studies show that exercise can make you live longer. How? Regular exercise prevents you from many heart diseases and obesity which are the leading causes of death. If you prevent these, of course you'll live longer. What's life really about? Is it not to live healthy, happy and longer with our loved ones?

2. Exercise improves your memory

Exercises improves your brainpower and memory, makes you reason faster, and sharpens your brain.
If you always forget things, exercise can help you remember things.

3. Exercise makes you sleep better

Do you struggle to have sound sleep every night? Do you find it hard to close your eyes and fall asleep? There's a remedy for that...
Of course you guessed it right. EXERCISE!
Regular exercise makes you fall asleep very quickly without wasting time. Just make a good exercise plan that will suit you and stay committed. After 2 - 3 months, there will be a great improvement in the way you sleep.

4. Exercise increases your strength and flexibility

Strength training exercises, like lifting weights, sit-ups and push-ups, helps increase your muscular strength, muscle mass and helps decrease the rate of bone loss that occurs while you get older.
Additionally, stretching makes all the parts of your body flexible. You'll be able to move your arms and legs to any direction - north, east, west and even south.
Hence, begin to fix exercise into your daily routines. If you can run for 10 mins, do so. Even if you can't run for 10 mins, try to do any exercise for a few minutes. A little exercise will make you live a better life with great strength - you can use this strength to break down a door with a kick!

5. Exercise controls your weight

I'm sure you might have heard this slogan: "Calories In, Calories Out".
If I take in lots of calories today, how I can get the unused calories out off my body?
Of course, it's through exercise! Only exercise! Walking alone will take off some calories. Swimming will take off some calories. Running and jumping ropes with take off some calories or even more if done for a long time. All these exercises I mentioned, if combined with a healthy diet, will lead to calorie deficit which is necessary for weight loss.

6. Exercise protects your body from many diseases

Exercising regularly helps prevent health problems such as:

  • High blood pressure
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Cancer
  • Obesity
  • Stroke
  • Arthritis
  • and many more...

It improves circulation, and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol (this is the good cholesterol). Also, it lowers the bad cholesterol -- Low-density lipoprotein (LDL). With exercise, you don't need to worry about having these diseases.

7. Exercise makes you feel good and happy

One thing that actually makes me do exercise is the happiness and enjoyment I get from it. You'll get that too when you exercise.
During outdoor workouts, you meet new people that may join you in your exercise and from there you become happy friends.You will stay motivated and achieve any fitness goal more quickly as you enjoy the fun.
